Sunni Smith

Meet Sunni! Originally from New Orleans, Sunni has called Nashville home for three years, moving from Capitol View near the Gulch to his current home in Bordeaux. He studied at the Aveda Arts & Science Institute of New Orleans and has been behind the chair for eight years, drawn to hairdressing simply because he wanted to be happy.

Sunni specializes in texture, a passion that started with his own hair journey. After years of chemically straightening it, he had to relearn his natural hair pattern, caring it back into health and, in his words, coming home to himself. That personal experience built a deeper well of understanding he now brings to every client with textured hair, creating a genuine common ground and connection. A career highlight came when he assisted on the marketing launch of Aveda's Nutriplenish line, styling hair featured in the brand's print campaign alongside stylist Tatum Neil and a team of other Aveda-trained stylists, a behind-the-scenes experience he still lights up talking about.

Sunni wants every client to leave feeling relaxed and happy. Down to earth, funny, and relatable, he brings an easy, genuine energy to the chair that makes clients feel instantly comfortable.

Outside the salon, Sunni's passions include good food, his fur babies, and gardening.
