Quenton McSparren
he/him
Meet Quenton! This Smithville, Tennessee native (with a stint in Texas during his high school years) has called Nashville home for the past 10 years and considers himself a true part of the community. Quenton knew early on he wanted to take hairdressing seriously, starting cosmetology school just two weeks after graduating high school in 2013. He graduated from Genesis Career College in Algood, Tennessee on scholarship in 2014, and he's been behind the chair ever since.
Quenton specializes in natural beauty, creating hair that feels healthy, soft, dimensional, and lived-in. He's Brazilian certified and takes real pride in his highlighting work, but he'll tell you that listening is just as important as technique. A 14-month apprenticeship under a Redken-educating salon shaped his approach early on, instilling in him a commitment to precision and a deep understanding of the "why" behind every service. Quenton is detail-oriented and organized by nature, and that shows in the intentionality he brings to every appointment.
More than anything, Quenton believes people end up in his chair for a reason, and he wants every client to feel like they can be completely open and honest with him. There's zero judgment in his chair, only warmth. He jokes that he's "a little bit of a mother in the salon," and clients can expect his full attention, his perfectionism, and the reassurance that their time and investment were worth it. "Give me a secret and I'll give you a secret," he says. His chair is a safe place to just be yourself.
Friendly, funny, down-to-earth, and honest, Quenton genuinely loves getting to know people. Outside the salon, you'll find him spending time with the people he cares about, traveling, discovering new places, and listening to music. He believes having a full life outside of hair only makes him better behind the chair, giving him more stories, perspective, and connection to bring back to his clients. Above all, Quenton wants you to leave his chair not just with beautiful hair, but feeling seen, heard, and good about yourself.
What does "come as you are" mean to you?: "To me, 'come as you are' means exactly that. You don't have to have everything figured out before you sit in my chair. I want you to feel comfortable telling me anything without worrying about judgment."
