Lisa DeArmond

she/her

Meet Lisa! Originally from Boston, she spent her 20s in New York City before making her way to Nashville in 2019. Lisa moved to NYC specifically to complete her apprenticeship at Bumble and Bumble, where she discovered her deep passion for the craft and education of cutting. She's now been behind the chair for over 22 years.

When Lisa started her apprenticeship, the industry was highly departmentalized, forcing stylists to choose between cut or color. She chose cutting, and has built her specialty around creating looks that are deeply personal, prioritizing how a client feels over chasing a technically "perfect" haircut. One of the most impactful experiences of her career was getting to meet and work alongside her "hair hero," Oribe, before he launched his own haircare line, watching him work in NYC and collaborating with him in Boston.

Lisa wants clients to walk out feeling like the best version of themselves, often reaching a place they didn't even know was possible. Funny with a touch of Boston-born sarcasm, direct but never cold, and deeply caring underneath it all, she creates a chair experience that's equal parts honest and warm. All are welcome in her chair, regardless of sexuality, gender, or race, with authenticity as the only real requirement.

Outside the salon, Lisa's world centers on her family: her two sons, her fiancé, and their puppy. Music has always been a constant in her life too, and she loves introducing live music to her kids and clients alike.

What does "come as you are" mean to you?: "All are welcome no matter your sexuality, gender, race. Just be your authentic self and that's what's always welcome."
