Bethany Valentine
she/her
Meet Bethany! Born and raised in and around Nashville, Bethany's first experiences cutting and styling hair weren't on humans at all, they were on horses. Years spent grooming horses, cutting manes, and braiding tails shaped the love and passion she brings to hairdressing today. She retired her horse girl era and started behind the chair in 2018.
Bethany loves the full range, from queer, funky, alternative hair to effortlessly lived-in, low-maintenance looks. One of the most formative moments in her career came at her first hair convention, fresh out of hair school. As a closeted lesbian still finding her place in the industry and in life, she was scared to be fully herself. Seeing uniqueness and queerness celebrated at that convention showed her she'd found her community, and it's stayed with her ever since.
For Bethany, creating hair is a collaboration between stylist and client, and her chair is a no-pressure, judgment-free space where clients can show up exactly as they are. Her biggest priority is making sure clients feel heard, so together they can land on hair that feels most like them. Compassionate, bubbly, and known for making anyone feel instantly at home, Bethany brings warmth to every appointment.
Outside the salon, Bethany's wife and their two fur babies, Lady and Bonnie, are the center of her world. She's passionate about building community, advocating for what she believes in, and using her voice to support others. She loves traveling, exploring new places, and spending time in nature, especially with the people she loves, and she's happiest when she's learning, connecting, or discovering somewhere new.
What does "come as you are" mean to you?: "Come as you are means that every version of you is valid and safe to take up space without fear of being judged."
